Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety (EOHS) Manager

General description:

Trans-Oil Group of Companies is now actively seeking an EOHS Manager which will provide hands-on, administrative and technical support in achieving Company’s goals related to environmental, occupational health & safety and social development.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Work with the Sustainability Manager to develop company’s sustainability strategy, policies and programs, and to elaborate on corporate annual sustainability reporting;
  • Assist in development and implementation of sustainable supply chain management policy;
  • Provide support in implementation of stakeholders’ environmental and social action plans and other company’s environmental and social commitments;
  • Promote, train and monitor the implementation of EOHS policies, programs and best practices among company’s subsidiaries and supply chain;
  • Provide support in assessment and identification of measures to avoid, minimize or keep under control adverse environmental impacts, safety and social risks associated with company activities;
  • Promote sustainable use of resources, including materials, energy, fuel and water, a better waste management and other ways to reduce carbon footprint among company’s subsidiaries and supply chain;
  • Conduct EOHS assessments of company’s sites and produce reports on findings, perform follow-up on preventive and corrective action plans;
  • Ensure ongoing assessment and compliance with EOHS and industrial safety related legislation;
  • Maintain permanent communication with company subsidiaries’ relevant staff;
  • Collect, consolidate and analyze EOHS information and data necessary for periodic and annual sustainability reporting;
  • Provide any other technical and advisory support to company subsidiaries’ staff and ad hoc projects or tasks.

Qualifications and experience:

  • University degree in economics, management, agribusiness, environment or a technical related field;
  • Participation in specialized training courses on EOHS and/or industrial safety would be a plus;
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience;
  • Hands-on experience in agribusiness sector or in consulting farmers would be an advantage;
  • Experience in implementing ISO 14001, ISO 45001 or other international management system standard is an advantage;
  • Experience of working with development finance institutions and/or knowledge of their environmental and social requirements would be an advantage;
  • Good team player, ability to communicate effectively and persuade others;
  • Result oriented, independent, committed, innovative and motivated;
  • Strong analytical skills, high level of accuracy and attention to details;
  • Fluency (including reading, writing, and speaking) in Romanian and Russian, and good level of English is required;
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
