Vaja Jhashi

CEO and Founder of Trans-Oil Group

The owner of a controlling stake (87.5%) and CEO of one of the largest industrial agricultural holdings in Eastern Europe, Trans-Oil Group of Companies.

Since 1996, Vaja Jhashi has co-managed the Trans-Oil Ltd. business with James Kelly. In 2005, after the departure of Mr. Kelly, Vaja Jhashi transformed the company into the Trans-Oil Group of Companies and became its primary shareholder.

Under the management of Vaja Jhashi, Trans-Oil Group received debut corporate ratings from Standard&Poors and Fitch. At the initiative of Vaja Jhashi, the Trans-Oil Group placed Eurobonds in the amount of $ 300 million on the Irish Stock Exchange, through its parent company Aragvi Holding International Ltd in 2019. During the same year, the American investment company Oaktree Capital Management (OCM) became a co-owner of Trans-Oil Group of Companies along with Vaja Jhashi. The OCM is a part of the asset management fund Brookfield Asset Management, whose assets under management exceeds $ 511 billion. It owns a 12.5% stake in Aragvi Holding International Ltd, parent company of TransOil Group

Vaja Jhashi holds an MBA degree from Indiana University. He graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University, school of Oriental and African studies and Cairo University.
