Group Environmental Occupational Health and Safety (EOHS) Manager
Job Requirements
Position Overview:
Being part of Trans-Oil Group of Companies’ team, the Environmental Occupational Health and Safety (EOHS) Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining comprehensive environmental, occupational health and safety programs across the organization. This role involves ensuring compliance with EOHS regulations, promoting a culture of safety and minimizing risks to employees and the environment. The EOHS Manager will work closely with various departments to identify environmental aspects and safety hazards, assess environmental impacts and safety risks, and implement effective environmental and safety measures.
Key Responsibilities:
· Implement the organization's EOHS strategy, policies and programs.
· Ensure alignment with the overall company sustainability strategy and objectives.
· Regularly review and update EOHS policies to reflect best practices and regulatory changes.
· Conduct regular EOHS risk assessments to identify potential hazards and risks.
· Develop and implement EOHS risk management plans to mitigate identified hazards.
· Ensure all necessary EOHS measures and controls are in place to minimize risks.
· Develop and deliver EOHS training programs for employees at all levels.
· Foster an organizational culture of health, safety, and environmental awareness and responsibility.
· Ensure employees understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe and environmentally compliant workplace.
· Oversee the reporting and investigation of EOHS incidents, including accidents, near misses and environmental spills.
· Conduct thorough investigations of incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective actions.
· Maintain accurate records of incidents and ensure timely reporting to regulatory authorities as required.
· Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures for EOHS incidents.
· Ensure employees are trained and prepared to respond effectively to emergencies.
· Conduct regular drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency response plans.
· Ensure compliance with local, national and international EOHS laws and regulations.
· Monitor changes in EOHS legislation and update company policies and practices accordingly.
· Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure timely reporting and adherence to compliance requirements.
· Lead initiatives to reduce the environmental footprint of the organization, including energy efficiency, waste reduction and water conservation.
· Implement programs for sustainable resource management and pollution prevention.
· Promote the adoption of renewable energy sources and sustainable technologies.
· Develop and implement programs to promote employee health and well-being.
· Address occupational health issues, including ergonomics, mental health and stress management.
· Provide resources and support for employees to maintain their health and safety.
· Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, customers, suppliers, community groups and regulatory authorities on EOHS matters.
· Build partnerships with relevant organizations to enhance EOHS practices and standards.
· Represent the organization in EOHS forums and industry groups.
· Stay updated on emerging EOHS trends, technologies and best practices.
· Benchmark the organization’s EOHS performance against industry standards and peers.
· Identify opportunities for improving EOHS performance.
· Work closely with other departments (e.g., Operations, HR, Logistics) to integrate EOHS into their activities.
· Coordinate cross-functional EOHS projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Agribusiness, Economics or Law.
· Advances degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) or professional certification in the field of EOHS is a plus.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in EOHS management or a related role.
· Experience in the relevant industry (e.g., manufacturing, energy, agriculture, etc.) is a plus.
Skills:
· Strong knowledge of EOHS best practices, regulations and compliance requirements.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to lead and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Knowledge:
· Familiarity with EOHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001) and certification programs.
· Familiarity with EOHS regulations and compliance requirements.
· Understanding of risk assessment and management principles.
· Knowledge of industry-specific EOHS challenges and opportunities.
· Proficiency in English, Romania and Russian, both spoken and written.
Work Environment:
· Chisinau office-based position, with regular travel to company sites and external events.
· May require occasional evening or weekend work to meet deadlines or attend events.
· Category “B” driving license. Own car would be an advantage.
