On February 8th, 2023, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Moldova, Yan Wenbin, had a business meeting with the management of “Floarea Soarelui” S.A. (Balti, Republic of Moldova), represented by director Stella Ostrovetschi.
As a priority, the parties discussed the issue of the exports of sunflower oil and meal (as a high-protein feed for animals) to the People's Republic of China. Ambassador Yan Wenbin emphasized the importance of the close cooperation between the relevant sectoral departments of the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Moldova regarding the bilateral trade. Ambassador Yan Wenbin affirmed his strong support in promoting such cooperation.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China highly appreciated the efforts already made by the Government of the Republic of Moldova, local authorities and “Floarea Soarelui” S.A. oil factory.
During the meeting, the parties addressed the subject of the most efficient logistics routes to transport sunflower meal via the International Free Port of Giurgiulesti (Republic of Moldova) and via the maritime ports of Romania.
In addition, the parties discussed the subject matter related to the issuance of the import permits by the Phytosanitary Control Authorities of the People's Republic of China.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their aspiration to develop closer cooperation by organizing joint business forums and communication platforms within the framework of international exhibitions.
